Semicolon creates employment and economic opportunities for software engineers and tech-preneurs

What they do:

Semicolon addresses the problem of youth unemployment by training software engineers and tech-preneurs to enable profitable and inclusive economic growth

Why we invested:

In Nigeria, there are around 200 million people and 57% of them fall under the age bracket of 18 to 35 years. Unfortunately, a significant number of these individuals are either unemployed or underemployed. This is mainly attributed to the scarcity of job opportunities that match their skills and qualifications, as well as their lack of preparedness and experience for positions that are available.

Semicolon also operates a corporate innovation model that enables companies to engage early with start-ups or teams from their trained pool of software engineers to work on business challenges of interest without significant upfront costs. They partner with corporate organizations and achieve this through research, product development and project implementation; focusing on developing innovative product solutions for these corporate partners.
