Digitech's customers - life and non-life insurance companies, sell their insurance products directly on the subscribers' cell phones though a multi-channel platform called Multiverse. Digitech also has a platform for reinsurers called Hyperion - which allows reinsurance companies to efficiently manage all the processes involved in their reinsurance business - underwriting, claims management, management of notes, payments and annual accounts management, generation of dynamic statistical reports for analysis and analysis and decision making, etc., whilst having real-time visibility of transactions and operations, and ease of exchange with other companies.

Why we invested:

In Africa, insurance penetration rate is <3%, and in addition, 99% of the incumbent insurers and re-insurers use siloed legacy systems with little-to-no business process automation. Digitech has built a highly intelligent digital insurance platform that allows any insurance company to reach all cell phone subscribers in Africa, both those who have access to the internet and those who do not.
