Orcas provides a learning platform that offers lesson plans, courses, free practice, assessments, and learning video content to help students learn
Through the platform tutors have the opportunity and flexibility to conduct classes both online and in person, and in different formats such as 1-on-1, small and large groups. The technology helps students to learn live, get assessed and be able to track their progress, while empowering tutors to teach better with lesson plans and measuring student understanding.
Why we invested:
As education in the MENA region undergoes a transformation towards hybrid learning models, Orcas is dedicated to providing comprehensive education solutions that encompass both synchronous and asynchronous formats (live and recorded). This positions Orcas as a dominant player with a distinctive offering, addressing the profound challenges that students encounter in the region.

Exited/Acquired:
In January 2024, Orcas was acquired by Baims, a prominent Kuwaiti ed-tech company. This strategic acquisition aims to position Baims to tap into the thriving education market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), valued at $100 billion, with the Egyptian online tutoring startup serving as a key asset in this expansion.
