PayQin is a cross-border payment fintech focused on Francophone West Africa

What they do:

With PayQin, customers can fund their e-wallet with mobile money and use debit cards and cryptocurrencies to make cross-border payments. PayQin is the first company in Francophone Africa to enable individuals and businesses to safely and securely pay, transfer, and trade from a single mobile app, targeting both merchants and individual users.

Why we invested:

We invested in PayQin because it addresses a critical need for accessible and efficient payment solutions in Africa, where traditional banking infrastructure often falls short. Fabrice's vision and firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by African consumers uniquely position PayQin to drive financial inclusion and empower individuals to participate in the digital economy.

The Founder:

Fabrice Amalaman, born and raised in Ivory Coast, pursued studies in banking and finance in France before working at BNP Paribas. Seeking to make a meaningful impact, he founded PayQin in 2017 to address Africa's payment challenges, leveraging technology to enable online purchases and empower local communities. After gaining traction, Fabrice moved back to Ivory Coast to centralize operations and build a team of African talent, solidifying PayQin's commitment to driving innovation and accessibility in the region.
