Baia is a crowd-sourced collaborative commerce platform

What they do:

BAIA leads the way in pioneering 'FinText' solutions tailored for informal markets, harnessing mobile messaging to meticulously track goods, services, assets, and cash along supply chains. It empowers agents and gig workers to establish trusted commerce networks while furnishing multinational corporations with enhanced insights and transaction assurance in informal market settings.

The platform fosters transparency, streamlines transactions, and drives sustainable growth. BAIA offers indispensable market mastery for corporations, optimizing operations and unveiling fresh growth pathways.

Why we invested:

The informal trade market in Africa is estimated to be substantial, with figures suggesting it encompasses transactions worth hundreds of billions of dollars annually, possibly reaching close to $1 trillion annually. This leads to inefficiency, low transparency, and visibility for both consumers and manufacturers. Baia seeks to bridge this enormous gap and positions itself between producers and consumers.

Exited/Acquired:

Baia is in the process of an Equity Swap agreement whereby the company’s shareholders will sell 100% of their shares in exchange for getting warrants in The Fintex Group - a Fintech investment holding company that makes long-term investments in undervalued and overlooked companies with massive potential.
